The My Venue page allows you to edit certain venue information.
The Venue Information section mostly cannot be edited. The only information that you can edit is the Description field. This description is displayed on your public landing page.
Your Venue name, slug, and active status can only be edited by Fairly Booked support staff. Please contact us if any of these need to be adjusted.
The slug is used in the domain name to access your venue and must be unique among all venues using our system. Typically if your venue is called “Sample Venue” your slug would be “sample-venue” (normalized to all lowercase, spaces changed to dashes, and certain special characters removed). To access the landing page for this venue you would go to https://sample-venue.fairlybooked.com
Fairly Booked is integrated with Stripe to take credit card payments from vendors. You must first create a Stripe account to complete this step.
To start setting up the Stripe integration slide the Enable Stripe Payments slider to the right to enable it.
In a new tab login to your Stripe account. Then:
Select Build your own integration and click continue.
Note: Stripe has recently added the more restrictive API option Provide this key to another website. You may use this option but need to ensure you enable access to all functions we will need to process credit card transactions. By default this key type is very restrictive and will only give us read access to most data and will not allow us to process credit card transactions.
Name this key so you know what it was used for in the future. Typically something like Fairly Booked is an appropriate name. Then click Create.
You will then be shown your Secret Key. This is the only time you can view this key. Copy the key and paste it into the Fairly Booked Payment Settings. This goes in the second box, labeled Stripe Secret Key. They key will start with sk_live.
If you do not copy this key you will need to generate a new key. Any time you generate a new key you must also update it in the Fairly Booked Settings or payment transactions will fail.
Back on the Stipe website hover over the Publishable Key in the Standard Keys section then click on it to copy.
Go back to Fairly Booked and paste this in the Stripe Publishable Key box. This key should start with pk_live.
Credit Card Processing Fees If you wish to charge a fee for credit card payments you may enable and set these up here.
It is your responsibility to ensure you are following all laws and processing agreements around adding processing fees. Some states like New York strictly prohibit charging processing fees - you are taking sole responsibility for adding processing fees.
To enable processing fees click to enable - the slider should be to the right when enabled.
We allow processing fees to be charged based on a percentage, a fixed amount, or a combination of both.
To charge a percentage add the percentage amount to the Percentage Fee box. For 2.9% enter 2.9, no % symbol needed. If no fixed amount should be charged enter 0 in the Fixed Fee box.
To charge a fixed amount enter this amount in the Fixed Fee box. For $0.30 enter 0.30, no $ symbol. If not percentage fee should be charged enter 0.0 in the Percentage Fee box.
If both Fixed and Percentage should be charged enter the amounts in both boxes.
